AGE-Inhibiting Recommendation from the Anti-Aging Research Center
The threat of AGE-inflicted health problems to those over 40, and especially diabetics, is real. And, the approval of AGE cross-link breaking drugs could be years away.
In the meantime, the following steps should be taken to protect yourself from further AGE damage:
- Strict control of blood glucose levels — especially for diabetics, is essential. This usually requires regular monitoring. Dietary avoidance of simple carbohydrates and sugars and regular exercise can play a big part in keeping glucose levels in an acceptable range.
- There is solid evidence that AGE inhibiting supplements such as benfotiamine and pyridoxamine are effective. Adding these supplements should provide valued protection.
- Regular supplementation with powerful antioxidants like vitamins C and E, beta caroteine and others is also a good practice. Vitamins, minerals, and herbal supplements which aid glucose metabolism may offer substantial protection as well.
